Natural make-up photo shoot

Ciao a tutti!

Oggi vi mostrerò il mio ultimo servizio fotografico, per il quale ho realizzato un make-up dai toni rosati e dall'effetto molto naturale.

Per il trucco occhi mi sono ispirata al look di Blake Lively, illuminando l'angolo interno dell'occhio con un ombretto chiaro brillante. Per le guance e le labbra ho scelto la stessa tonalità di rosa, che appare anche tra le sfumature dell'ombretto.

Spero che l'effetto vi piaccia!

Today I'm going to show you my last photo shoot, characterized by a pink toned make-up, which results very natural. For the eye make-up I took inspiration from Blake Lively's look, lighting up the inner corner of the eye with a light shimmery shadow. I chose the same shade of pink for cheeks and lips, and you can found the same tone in the shadow.

In this photoshoot I wanted to recreate her look, characterized by pale skin and a peculiar lip make up which remind a geisha.

Iniziamo da un continente che con la sua arte tribale è stato una grande fonte di ispirazione per artisti, stilisti, truccatori e fotografi di tutto il mondo: l'Africa. 

Dalla cultura africana impariamo che la natura può offrirci innumerevoli ingredienti per ornare il nostro corpo. Carbone, grafite, gesso, terre colorate, radici di piante, grasso animale si trasformano così in prodotti di bellezza. E se vi chiedete quali siano i risultati, be'... giudicate voi stessi:

Let's start from a continent whose tribal art has been a great source of inspiration for artists, designers, make up artists and photographers all over the world: Africa. 

From african culture we can learn that nature can offer us several ingredients to decorate our body. Carbon, graphite, gypsum, coloured soils, plant roots, animal fat can turn into beauty products. And if you wonder what are the results, well... look at these pictures:

Today I'd like to talk about some make-up removers I tried. If you really want a beautiful skin, a good make-up removal is the first step. There are different kinds of make-up removers, so let's see some of them...

Struccante bifasico/ Biphasic make-up remover

È adatto per rimuovere facilmente anche il trucco waterproof, grazie alla sua componente oleosa all'interno. Basta massaggiare delicatamente occhi e viso con un dischetto di cotone. Consiglio di detergere il viso dopo l'utilizzo! Ecco due esempi di struccante bifasico che ho provato:

 

It is particularly suitable for an easy make-up removal. It also removes waterproof make up, thanks to its oleose components. Just apply it on a cotton pad and gently massage your eyes and face. I suggest you to clean your face after using this make-up remover! Here are two examples of biphasic make-up remover:

- L'Oréal Struccante delicato occhi e labbra/ L'Oréal Gentle eyes and lips waterproof make-up remover

Pro: strucca molto bene e delicatamente qualsiasi tipo di make up.
Contro: il packaging a mio parere non è funzionale, si spreca molto prodotto e finisce in fretta.
Voto: 7/10

- Yves Rocher Pur Bleuet struccante bifasico/ Yves Rocher Pur Bleuet biphasic make-up remover

Pro: strucca benissimo, delicato.

Contro: non ne trovo nessuno, per me è perfetto. A differenza di quello L'Oréal, non si spreca prodotto e dura nel tempo!

Voto: 10/10

Cons: none. It is perfect. It has good packaging and there are no wastes.

Acqua micellare/ Micellar cleansing water

È un prodotto molto leggero, adatto alle pelli più delicate. Si applica con dischetti di cotone e dopo l'utilizzo a mio parere occorre detergere il viso più a fondo, perché possono rimanere più tracce di trucco sulla pelle.

It is especially suitable for delicate skins. Apply it with cotton pads and don't forget to clean your face very deeply to remove every trace of make up and impurities.

- Sephora Eau micellaire démaquillante/ Sephora Triple action cleansing water

Pro: strucca bene, ma si deve insistere un po'.

Contro: si deve utilizzare molto prodotto per struccare il viso.

Voto: 6/10

Salviette struccanti/ Make-up remover wipes
 

Quando si è di fretta e abbiamo bisogno di qualcosa di rapido, le salviette struccanti sono valide alleate! Ne ho provate di diversi tipi e sono poche quelle che vale la pena acquistare.

 

They are the best choise when you have no time for a deep make-up removal! Let's see two of them:

- Salviette Cera di Cupra per pelli giovani/ Cera di Cupra Make-up remover wipes for young skins

Circa 4 € per 25 salviette

Pro: sono ben imbevute quindi struccano benissimo, delicate e lasciano la pelle morbida. 

Contro: forse il prezzo, ma sono veramente valide.

Voto: 10/10

About 4 € per 25 wipes

Pros: they are very well soaked so they perfectly remove your make-up! They make your skin very soft.

Cons: maybe the price, but they are really worth trying.

Mark: 10/10

 

- Salviette Johnson's face care/ Johnson's face care make-up remover wipes

 

 

3-4 € per 25 salviette

Pro: struccano abbastanza bene, delicate e profumate.

Contro: bisogna insistere un po' per rimuovere il mascara e servono diverse salviette per struccarsi completamente.

Voto: 7/10

Pros: they are very delicate and perfumed.

Cons: you have to insist to remove your mascara and you need several wipes to remove completely your make up.

Mark: 7/10

The best mascaras for a false lash effect

Il post di oggi è dedicato al cosmetico più usato in assoluto, quello a cui nessuna di noi può rinunciare: l'insostituibile mascara. Bastano poche passate di questo prodotto per trasformare il nostro sguardo, e rendere le nostre ciglia più lunghe, più curve e più definite.

Le case cosmetiche si stanno sfidando sempre più a colpi di "scovolino", inventando nuove forme adatte a ogni esigenza (volume, lunghezza, curvatura), per garantire il tanto desiderato effetto ciglia finte. 

Sarà solo uno stratagemma pubblicitario o i prodotti sono realmente validi? Possiamo fidarci degli slogan che troviamo su ogni confezione? Sì e no. Molti mascara sono davvero buoni, ma bisogna tenere in considerazione anche la loro durata (dopo quanti mesi si secca), la loro consistenza, il nostro tipo di ciglia e il risultato che vogliamo ottenere.

Ora vi mostrerò i mascara con cui mi sono trovata bene e darò loro il mio voto:

In this post I'll talk about the most used cosmetic ever: the irreplaceable mascara. With a few steps it can change your eyes completely, and make your lashes longer, perfectly curled and more definite.

Nowadays cosmetics brands are inventing new shapes of applicators for all needs (volume, length, curving) in order to guarantee the false lashe effect that so many women want.  

Is it just an advertising strategy or are the products really valid? Can we trust the slogans which appear in any packaging? Yes and no. A lot of mascaras are very good, but we must take in consideration their duration (how many months does it take to get dry?), their texture, our type of lashes and the result we want to get.

Now I'll show you the mascaras I really liked, and I'll give them a grade:

 

Pupa Vamp!: 8

Caratteristiche/ features: dura più di 6 mesi, ma non è waterproof /it lasts more than 6 months but it is not waterproof.

 

 

Lash power mascara by Clinique: 8.5

Caratteristiche/ features: ha lo scovolino molto piccolo che rende più precisa l'applicazione/ it has a very small applicator which makes it more precise.

Aqua Smoky lash by Make Up Forever: 8.5

Caratteristiche/ features: dà volume alle ciglia senza appesantirle/ it gives volume to your lashes without making them heavier.

 

 

 

They're real! by Benefit: 9

Caratteristiche/ features: nonostante abbia lo scovolino di plastica, crea delle ciglia da urlo!/ despite the plastic applicator, it creates such amazing lashes!

 



 

Better than sex by Too Faced: 9

Caratteristiche/ features: dona volume e lunghezza esagerati, ma mantiene le ciglia separate e naturali/ it gives incredible volume and length, but the lashes remain separated and natural.

Questa è la mia classifica personale, basata non solo sul trucco realizzato, ma anche sulla scelta della posa e sull'espressività della modella.

Nella collezione Primavera/Estate 2013 di Chanel il ruolo da protagonista spetta al pizzo, che rende elegante, pur nella sua stravaganza, anche il make up occhi. Per l'anno successivo il marchio francese punta su un effetto grafico, trasformando i visi delle modelle in tele da dipingere.

In Chanel Spring/Summer 2013 collection the lead role lie with lace, which makes the eye make up more elegant, and yet bizarre. The next year the french brand count on a graphic effect, turning the model's face into a canva to be painted.

Come possiamo vedere, anche l'eccentrica Vivienne Westwood dimostra che il viso può fungere da supporto per creare delle vere e proprie opere d'arte, alcune frutto della mano di Val Garland, una delle make up artist più dotate in circolazione!

As you can see, even Vivienne Westwood proves that face can function as a fabric to create a real work of art. Some of these are the result of Val Garland's touch: she's one of the best Make up artist around!
