Il post di oggi è dedicato a un personaggio della saga di Star Wars: Padmé Amidala, Regina di Naboo, interpretata dalla splendida Natalie Portman.

In questo servizio fotografico ho voluto ricreare il suo look, caratterizzato da un incarnato pallido e da un trucco labbra che ricordano l'aspetto di una geisha.

In this photoshoot I wanted to recreate her look, characterized by pale skin and a peculiar lip make up which remind a geisha.

It's Carnival time!

Ciao a tutti! Il Carnevale è alle porte... siete già pronti per il travestimento o non avete pensato minimamente a cosa indossare? Se come me appartenete alla seconda categoria, non vi allarmate: potete sempre puntare sul make up! Gli ingredienti per un look ricercato e originale sono strass colorati, eccentriche ciglia finte e tanta tanta creatività.

Hello everybody! Carnival is just round the corner... are you ready to disguise or haven't you thought about it at all? If you fit in the second category -like me- don't panic: you can always count on make up! The ingredients for a refined and original look are coloured strass, eccentric fake lashes and a lot of creativity.

Per chi ama realizzare look un po' più complessi e interpretare un personaggio, ecco alcune idee: vi sentite più Cleopatra o Pocahontas? Preferite vestire i panni di una romantica geisha o impersonare un quadro della Pop art?

Ciao ragazze e ragazzi! Il post di oggi sarà un viaggio nel mondo della cosmesi, per constatare come il trucco e la percezione della bellezza femminile siano cambiati nel corso degli anni. 

Nei primi decenni del Novecento sono state le dive del cinema e dello spettacolo a scoprire i benefici del trucco, mentre il resto delle donne non ne facevano uso. Negli anni '40 e '50 nasce una nuova immagine di donna, femminile e seducente. Si inizia a parlare di Alta moda solo negli anni '60, e il make up diventa vero protagonista. Oggi non ci sono dubbi: il trucco si è trasformato con la società, ed è diventato a tutti gli effetti una forma d'arte.

Di seguito vi mostrerò delle foto di trucchi d'epoca, e li affiancherò a delle rivisitazioni moderne, molto più estrose ed originali, che possiamo rintracciare nei backstage delle sfilate. Che dire, buon viaggio!

 

Hi girls and boys! Today's post is going to be a journey in the world of cosmetics, in order to verify how make up and the notion of feminine beauty have changed through the years. 

In the first decades of the 20th century, movies and tv celebrities were the first to discover the benefits of make up, whilst the rest of women did not make use of it. In the 40's and 50's a new image of a feminine and seductive woman was born. In the 60's make up became a protagonist. Nowadays there are no doubts: make up has changed with society and it has become a real form of art.

Below I'll show you some pictures of old make up styles, next to modern versions, way too extravagant and original, which we can find in the catwalks' backstages. Well, have a good journey!

Beloved smokey eyes

Ciao amanti del make up!

In questo post vi parlerò di un trucco molto amato dalle donne, e che da anni è il protagonista della maggior parte degli editoriali di moda. Stiamo parlando dello smokey eyes, l'inconfondibile sguardo accattivante che si sposa perfettamente con un look edgy e rock, ma può essere abbinato anche a un outfit sofisticato ed elegante.

A seconda del nostro modo di essere e dell'occasione, questo trucco può essere portabile e leggero, di un colore neutro come il marrone, oppure si può scegliere di osare con un total black o con colori vistosi come il blu elettrico e il verde smeraldo. 

Il modo più semplice per creare questo trucco è stendere un matitone nero su tutta la palpebra mobile, fissarlo con della cipria e poi applicare un ombretto in polvere, sfumando verso l'esterno.

La parola d'ordine è: sfumare, sfumare, sfumare.

In this post I'm going to tell you about a make up extremely loved by women, which is the protagonist of most fashion editorials. I'm talking about smoky eyes, the unmistakable charming eyes which match perfectly with an edgy and rock look, but can also be matched with a sophisticated and elegant outfit.

Depending on our way of being and on the occasion, this look can be an everyday make up, light, in a neutral colour like brown, or we can choose to dare with a total black or flashy colours like electric blue and emerald green.

The easiest way to get this look is apply a black eye pencil all over the eyelid, fix it with some powder, then apply a powder shadow, and blend it.

The watchword is: blend, blend, blend.

My favourite cosmetics brands

Ciao amanti del make up! In questo post vi farò vedere i miei prodotti preferiti. Per ogni categoria di cosmetici ho scelto la marca con cui mi trovo meglio. Cominciamo con il fondotinta della Clinique, che si adatta perfettamente a qualsiasi tipo di pelle, e che io ho scelto nel tono più chiaro. Come primer occhi non posso non consigliarvi il famoso primer potion della Urban Decay (marca che adoro)...è davvero miracoloso! Io uso moltissimo le matite per occhi, soprattutto quelle colorate...le matite Urban Decay sono tra le migliori...oltre ad avere delle sfumature stupende, hanno una texture davvero morbida.Trovare il mascara perfetto non è affatto semplice...ce ne sono tantissimi in commercio ed ogni marca vanta gli effetti straordinari del proprio prodotto. Uno dei mascara con cui mi sono trovata meglio è l'Aqua Smoky Lash della Make Up Forever (un'altra marca professionale). Altre marche che consiglio per i mascara sono la Clinique, la Benefit e la Maybelline. Tra i rossetti, quelli della MAC sono un must! Speak louder è un colore molto bello, perfetto per la sera ma se applicato con le dita può essere adatto anche al giorno. Naturalmente ci sono tanti altri prodotti che possono sostituire questi, basta trovare la formula che si adatta di più alla vostra pelle.

Nella borsa di ogni fashionista (e di ogni make up addict) non dovrebbero mai mancare i trucchi! Io porto sempre con me un mascara e un rossetto, per fare dei ritocchi durante la giornata. Questa volta ho scelto il "Rouge coco" di Chanel (17 Orchidée) e il mascara "They're real!" della Benefit.

Il profumo "Funny" di Moschino è in assoluto il mio preferito: adoro il suo aroma di agrumi!

Non dimentico mai a casa i miei Ray-Ban...ci sono così affezionata! E che dire del mio portachiavi con la Tour Eiffel...già dal primo post avrete capito che sono innamorata di Parigi <3

Ciao! Oggi parliamo di make up: da quando ho scoperto il mondo del beauty non mi stanco mai di creare nuovi look e cercare ispirazione intorno a me e sulle riviste di moda.

Trovo che tenere d'occhio lo stile delle celebrity può fornirci idee interessanti per un'occasione speciale.

Ogni star ha il suo make up caratteristico: le attrici Keira Knightley e Kristen Stewart puntano spesso su uno "smokey eyes" che esalta il loro sguardo; Natalie Portman e Blake Lively scelgono un look naturale, intensificato da un ombretto chiaro nell'angolo interno dell'occhio; Gwen Stefani non tradisce mai il suo stile, caratterizzato da una linea precisa di eyeliner e un rossetto mat rosso fuoco.

I find that keeping an eye on celebs style can give us some interesting tips for a special occasion.

Every star has her distinctive make up: actresses Keira Knightley and Kristen Stewart often show a "smokey" which highlight their eyes; both Natalie Portman and Blake Lively prefer a natural look, intensified by a bright shadow in the inner corner of the eye; Gwen Stefani can't do without a precise layer of eyeliner and a mat flame red lipstick.
