Make up around the world: Tribal.

Il post che vi propongo oggi sarà il primo di una rubrica dedicata al Trucco nel mondo: insieme scopriremo i riti di bellezza caratteristici di ogni cultura, i loro modelli di riferimento, i cosmetici prediletti, e soprattutto le diverse concezioni di ciò che è "bello".

Iniziamo da un continente che con la sua arte tribale è stato una grande fonte di ispirazione per artisti, stilisti, truccatori e fotografi di tutto il mondo: l'Africa. 

Dalla cultura africana impariamo che la natura può offrirci innumerevoli ingredienti per ornare il nostro corpo. Carbone, grafite, gesso, terre colorate, radici di piante, grasso animale si trasformano così in prodotti di bellezza. E se vi chiedete quali siano i risultati, be'... giudicate voi stessi:

This post will be the first of the brand-new section Make up around the world: together we'll discover the beauty rituals of every culture, their role models, their favourite products, and especially the different concepts of what is "beautiful".

Let's start from a continent whose tribal art has been a great source of inspiration for artists, designers, make up artists and photographers all over the world: Africa. 

From african culture we can learn that nature can offer us several ingredients to decorate our body. Carbon, graphite, gypsum, coloured soils, plant roots, animal fat can turn into beauty products. And if you wonder what are the results, well... look at these pictures: 

  

Questo tipo di trucco, che spesso viene realizzato anche sul resto del corpo, è stato più volte reinterpretato in occasione di sfilate, servizi fotografici e spettacoli teatrali (come nel famoso musical "The Lion King"). Già, il tribal è sempre più di moda! 

This kind of make up, which is often used in the rest of the body, has been reinvented for the catwalks, photoshoots and theatrical performances (like in the famous musical "The Lion King"). Yes, tribal is in fashion at the moment!
